Funeral services were held Monday from the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, for Harry Hart, 89, who passed away after a brief illness last Friday, February 9, in the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
With burial made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery, the Rev. Alvin Ebert, pastor of the Humbird United Methodist Church, was to officiate.
Hart was born in Canada to Norman and Mary (Gaffield) Hart on September 28, 1889. He moved with his parents to the Humbird area while still young and received his education there, graduating from Humbird High School. Post high school studies included graduation from UW-Madison.
After college studies, re returned to Humbird and farmed until 1943 when he worked for the old Wisconsin Conservation Department for several years. He later was a vocational agriculture teacher in Humbird and Alma Center for 3 years.
On March 4, 1967, Hart married Rose Bryner in Monticello ceremonies. He then worked on his son's farm until retirement in 1971.
Hart is survived by his wife; one son, Harold, Humbird; on daughter, Mrs. Angus (Verna) Flood, also of Humbird; two sisters, Mrs. Ivis Walsh of South Bend, Indiana and Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Lambert of Sedona, Arizona; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren;and one great great grandson. Preceding him in death was one sister, Anna; one brother; and three sisters.
