Thruway exit 48A to Route 77 South. Route 77 to North Java. Follow signs on Welch Road.

Description:

Beaver Meadow Nature Center has a variety of activities and terrain for all to explore. The trails are dirt or grass and run along ponds, hilly areas in accessible with railings on both sides. The visitor center is also wheelchair accessible with railings on both sides. The visitor center is also wheelchair accessible with restrooms, gift shop, childrens touch and play area. Birdwatching is great at this area. You may become a member and receive the monthly Buffalo Audubon Society. In winter, you may crosscountry ski at the site and snowshoe, snowshoes are rented at the site. Separately organized, but at the site, is the Beaver Meadow Observatory. For information on public events and viewing nights call: (716) 457-3104. Trails are open at all times. Visitor cneter Tues. thru Sat. 10 am to 5 pm, Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm. The area has many benches for resting and observation as well as outdoor picnic area.
