I had the opportunity at Cascadia Counselling Clinic to facilitate some Train The Trainer Programs.
Cascadia has developed train-the-trainer programs at the Federal and Provincial level:
Managing Angry Moments Program (MAM)
The Violence Prevention Program (VPP)
The Substance Abuse Management Program (SAM)
The Relationship Violence Prevention Program
(RVTP)
The Youth Violence Intervention Program (YVIP)
The Youth Substance Abuse Management Program
(YSAM)
Partners in Prevention Program (PIP)
I am familiar with the methodology used in all of these programs and have co facilitated some of these programs.
All of these programs have a strong cognitive-behavioural underpinning, and focus on the management of symptoms. Although there is still a lot of work to be done to strengthen the implementation of these programs, my interest is in the development of the next generation of programs, as indicated under the "Anger Management and Beyond" section. I have worked with the Centre of Response-Based Practice on these developments.
