I had never even come across this tool used in a classroom before,
But I can see plenty of uses:
In particular:
With Global Virtual Classroom - our classes will negotiate a topic for their
project with the students in their two partner schools. Sometimes, for us
this has been a less than satisfactory experience - a good project topic
has a focus, but is also wide and flexible enough to allow for a variety of
different students to express their interests...
Sometimes, we end up with a project that lacks focus. Sometimes,
what is proposed is too narrow, and doesn't engage enough of the
class.
I can see a tool like moderator being a useful way to gauge the
appropriateness of specific topic proposals..
