Google Time!
If successful corporations like Google find it helpful to allow their staff to have 20% self-directed time,
why shouldn't it work in the classroom?
Paul shared how his implementation of this idea worked.
My thoughts:
- For classes where board-set GLHs are already a tight squeeze, this might not be practicable,
- For ICT/Computing courses where skill-building is a necessary part of the programme of study,
- the opportunity to 'play' within specific contexts is essential
- Students at all levels need scaffolding to enable them to be challenged/guided
