Introduction

This was the 13th GTA. The second in the UK.

There is a list of GTAs which have taken place on the GCT resources site.

Most of the GTAs have some associated resources that any teacher can look at.

Themes:

We discussed innovation - the examples of non-computer-based innovation we came up with fell into four basic categories:

• Re-thinking the classroom
• Taking risks
• Giving choice
• Developing learning through telling stories

GTA by numbers:

I was particularly encouraged by the pie charts showing how our cohort were distributed:

~50% Classroom Teachers

~30% ICT Specialists

The vast majority of us at GTAUK spend a significant amount of our time at the chalk face:

Together,

• We directly influence 29,000 students
• We reach 48,000 other teachers
• If they only have contact with 25 students,
• that's 1,200,000 children we can inspire...

So, that's an average of 24,000 students impacted by each GCT trained at GTAUK 12.

And that's an annual figure for just one cohort of GCTs...?
