David Taylor

National Championship Judge

David Taylor (Neola, Iowa) is a retired coach and educator who has been active in field trialing since the early 1970's. Taylor’s Ringafire Kennels has produced four National Amateur Champions. Three of those champions were products of the Taylor's All Age Champion Ringafire's Rhythm. The Taylor's current champion, Ringafire's Sweetwater is an AKC Amateur Field Champion and was named runner up in the American Pointer National Amateur Championship in 2010.

David has judged the National Amateur Pheasant Championship and the National Amateur Chukar Championship. It has been David's privilege to judge four breed National Championships and he is scheduled to judge the AKC National Gundog Championship in Grand Junction in 2012.

David served as president of the Midwest Field Trial Association and he and Marilyn are currently serving the organization as secretary. Field trialing, reporting, and judging have allowed the Taylor's to travel from Canada to Texas and from California to Michigan, Illinois, and Tennessee. During these travels David has judged over 50 championships and they have made many special treasured friendships. David and wife Marilyn have been married for 48 years and have four children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

It is an honor to be invited to judge the 2011 Gordon Setter National Championship. Thank you!
