2015 GSCA National Championships & Field Trial

Monday - November 02, 2015

The Gordon Setter Club of America is proud to host the 21st renewal of the National Championships & Field Trial at the Bechtel Ranch this November. The Bechtel Ranch is located just west of Eureka, Kansas in the beautiful Flint Hills area. Agricultural land and grazing on the wide open spaces make this a great place to hold field trials. Roger and Erika Bechtel decided to develop an area for field trials on their property, along with the nearby Huntington and Oliver Ranches. They hope to continue to bring field trialers and revenue to the community. Centrally located in the US, the highways are excellent and county roads to the ranch are packed limestone. The Bechtels embody the best in Kansas hospitality and want visitors to their ranch to have a pleasant and comfortable event. They have hosted the expanding GSPCA National Championship for over 10 years.

The ranch itself covers many thousands of acres, and they invite dog clubs to establish their own courses among the many parcels of the property. The swell and swale of the prairie hills is dotted with cottonwoods, and osage orange trees. There are some fence line hedgerows, and wide open pasture ground. Water is abundant at the wandering creeks, water holes, and livestock ponds.
