15/10-inch twin refractor, Edinburgh (1930s)

The 15/10 inch twin refrator in the workshop at Newcastle.

In 1951 the mount from this telescope was re-cycled and given a new tube assembly, in the form of a Schmidt camera made by Cox, Hargreaves and Thompson. Here is an image of it..

It was eventually taken out of use and now resides in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh. More details can be found here...
