Warner: I was six years old when Bryant was born. I remember Verlin tended me and mother was in bed for a really long time. I remember going into her bedroom and seeing the baby. Mother wrote in her journal, "Poor little fellow, he wasn't too healthy and he had an awful sick spell when he was a baby. He didn't develop like he should have done. We sent him up to American Fork, thinking that he could be helped somewhat but he took sick while there. We were going to bring him back home to take care of him ourselves but I guess the Lord saw fit to take him." For years I thought it was my fault that Bryant was different. I was coming home from school once and Bryant saw me and ran out in front of a truck. I always thought that caused his problems. It was Blair that told me I was wrong. I guess I was just too young to notice that there was a difference when he was a baby. I loved to play with him and would lay with him to get him to take his naps. Once Gordon sent a big drum home from the service. I lugged that drum all the way home from the post office and showed it to Bryant. We played with it a lot.
