Marshmallow Snowmen

If you don't have snow to play with in your area, or if it is too cold to play outside, here is a fun indoor activity that tastes good, too!

What You Will Need:

  • Marshmallows (click here for a homemade marshmallow recipe)
  • Toothpicks
  • Icing (recipe below)

What You Do:

  • Start by washing hands thoroughly with soap and water.
  • Pretend your marshmallows are snow balls. Make a snowman, an igloo, or whatever your imagination comes up with.
  • To get your marshmallows to stick together, apply icing to the marshmallows. This is the most fun when using your fingers!
  • Use toothpicks to keep large marshmallow sculptures together, if needed.
  • When your sculptures are complete, it's time to eat them for a yummy treat!

Variations:

  • Have friends over and see who can create the largest sculpture, the funniest, the most original. What will you create?

Icing Recipe:

  • Whip 3 egg whites together with 1/8 teaspoon cream of tarter to form soft peaks. Then slowly add 8 ounces of confectioners' sugar while stirring the icing. Mmmm...
