9 Card Golf

  • You can play 9 or 18 holes (rounds), the object of the game is to have the lowest score at the end of the round/game.
  • All cards are face value (royalty is 10) *except* the King which is 0 points. Aces are low card at 1 point.
  • Deal everyone 9 cards, face down and everyone arranges them in 3 rows of 3. Put the rest of the deck face down then turn one card up for the discard pile.
  • Everyone turns up any ONE of their cards
  • Player to the dealer's left starts and picks a card from the top of the deck or the top of the discard pile then has these choices:
    • Put drawn card face up in place of one of the face down cards (without looking at the face down card) then discards the replaced card
    • Put drawn card face up in place of one of the face up cards and discard the replaced card
    • Discard the drawn card and turn up one of the face down cards
  • If a player gets 3 of the same card (e.g. 3 tens) in a row, horizontal, vertical, or diagnal, the player may throw away those 3 cards and they won't count against him.
  • ENDING A ROUND: When one player has turned all 9 of his/her cards face up, the rest of the players have one more play to make the best of their cards before that round is ended. Count up everyone's score for that round.
