2017-08-05 GLR Picnic - NW Ohio

37 people driving 17 antique cars enjoyed a very nice tour organized by Ted & Judy Wright, Doug Kennedy, Wilma Davis, Dave & Esther Plassman, and Ken and Karen Wiechers. The tour began at a McDonald's in Waterville, OH and proceeded to Ritter Park alongside the Maumee River on a gorgeous summer day. At Ritter Park, attendees listened to Dr. Joe Krueger, an internal medicine MD in Napoleon, give a talk about the North Coast Inland Trail.

The group then enjoyed pizza and salad and embarked on a lovely tour along the Maumee River to Defiance and to Doug Kennedy's family homestead which dates back to the 1870's. There we enjoyed the museum Doug has set up in the old family house featuring high wheel antique bikes and many other treasures. The group then resumed their tour to Dave and Esther Plassman's house to enjoy their collection of antique cars and other memorabilia. The tour then concluded south of Napoleon for ice cream where we bid our farewells. (Submitted by Bill Sturgeon)
