The Association has completed the process of upgrading the dumpster enclosure to make room for an additional container to accommodate recycling through our current waste contractor, Allied Waste. They have provided one 6 yd Recycling Container (same size as the trash container), which is available for ALL recyclable items. They cannot make it any easier than that, but we need assistance from ALL residents to make this work.
Residents will need to separate their trash accordingly in order to deposit it in the appropriate container and avoid potential fines.
Accepted recyclable items include:
Newspapers (to include inserts) Cardboard
Junk Mail Clean Pizza Boxes
Magazines Office & School Papers
Catalogs Boxboard
Envelopes Paper Egg Cartons
Paperback Books Paper Bags (Grocery Type)
Phone Books Aluminum Cans
Clean Foil Tin & Steel Aerosol Cans (empty)
Glass Jars & Bottles All Plastic Containers, Labeled: 1-7
All other items will go in the regular trash container.
If you are unsure, then deposit it in the regular trash container.
Recycling will cost $68 a month for once a week pickup; however, this has reduced our regular trash pickup to save money. The Association has reduced pick up on the regular trash from 3x to 2x per week, with the recycling container being picked up 1x a week. This is actually saving the Association money, as this pickup schedule has reduced our cost approximately $70 less a month than we were previously paying. This will have to be monitored to ensure an appropriate schedule to benefit the Association.
