‘My boy has done it again. All the Americans bring us is good news this month. Within their number is a clairvoyant and he will be joining our group. That’s not part of the prophecy but by the time I’m done he’ll never want to leave our town again. Extraordinarily powerful and he doesn’t even know it, young for a soldier, perfect raw material to be moulded. His presence in the army proves he wants the same goals as us – it should only take a little persuasion to show him his gift is better used with his occult kin rather than his army brethren. I’ll have to research what legal ramifications his desertion may have. I don’t believe the Americans execute their own – I’ll make sure he’s safe with us, make this his home for now and after the war. Signing the tavern over to him should help him make the right decision. Not many young men would pass up such an offer. Mediums are often not like other people, and that’s the only variable. Who to send to bring him to us? The feminine touch may be required to lead him here and then I have to get my silver tongue out of storage. Another fantastic month like this and those animals are done for.’
