The Bosleys

Bartholomew and Elizabeth Bosley

Bartholomew and Elizabeth had two children: Sarah, born in about 1769 and Newman, born in about 1770. Both were baptised in Lechlade.

Bartholomew died in 1774 and was buried in Lechlade on 29 October of that year. His occupation was given in the burial record as labourer.

No other information has yet been found about Bartholomew and Elizabeth.

Newman and Hannah Bosley

Newman was baptised in Lechlade at the age of 16 on 19 June 1786, together with his sister, Sarah, who was 17.

He married Hannah Hatton on 27 December 1790 in Lechlade. Hannah’s first name is given in the register as Susannah. The register also states that she came from Sherborne in Gloucestershire. One of the witnesses was a Jas Bosley.

James Bosley – buried in Lechlade on 17 March 1803

Joseph Bosley – buried in Lechlade on 15 January 1798

Elizabeth Bosley – baptised in Lechlade on 16 February 1793, aged 1 (therefore born in about 1792); married William Richins in Lechlade on 18 October 1812

Harriet Bosley – baptised in Lechlade on 6 July 1806; married Richard Bradbury on 20 May 1824 in Lechlade; 1841 living in Cirencester; 1851-1881 living in Dorchester, Oxfordshire; no children recorded in any census

Newman Bosley – born 11 June 1809; baptised in Lechlade on 25 June 1809; buried in Lechlade on 1 October 1809
