2010 OSU Mars Rover

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer of the OSU Mars Rover team in 2010, I was responsible for the mechanical design of the vehicle (the arm was subcontracted to a separate design group with our team). The chassis was designed in SolidWorks, and included every component except for the cable harnesses. This allowed the vehicle to be designed right to the weight limit of 110 lbs, which the actual vehicle met with great accuracy. The model assemblies were structured in a manner that reflected the physical order of assembly. The model served to generate part drawings for manufacture, validate clearances, and wheel articulation angles.
