Questions to consider:
Student Learning Outcomes and/or Goals
- By the end of this lesson, what should students learn or be able to do?
"Pre-class" Materials and Activities
- What should students learn from the "lecture" or "pre-class" material? What concepts will students need to have been introduced to before coming to class?
- What routine or procedural information should students learn before coming to class?
- In what format will this material be presented (e.g., video, etc.?)
- Will you create your own "lecture" material?
- If so, what technology will you use to create your content?
- If not, how will you find and access pre-class materials?
- How will you store any materials you create?
- How will you organize content for students?
- How will your students access the pre-class materials?
- What tool will you use to check that students have viewed the material?
- How will you check students' understanding of the pre-class material?
"In-class" Activities
- Do you plan to do an ice-breaker or refresher at the beginning of class?
- What activity or activities will you ask students to do during class time to apply to concepts for deeper understanding?
- Will you use active learning strategies (e.g., problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, other group activities, etc.) to engage students during class time?
- How will you accommodate students who did not complete the pre-class activities?
Technology Considerations
- Do you need any additional software/hardware to create or distribute pre-class materials?
- Do your students need any additional software/hardware to view or interact with pre-class materials?
- What technology, if any, will be used during in-class activities?
