Kids who READ... SUCCEED!!

THE BEST PLACE TO BE

I got up in the morning

With nothing to say

Next thing I knew,

I was on my way

I was going to a place,

That accepted nothing less than A’s,

I would do this weekly Monday through Friday,

For a duration of approximately 190 week days.

This place you may or may not know,

But I am going to tell you about it,

For show,

This is a place I attend with BIG PEOPLE,

That care about me,

It is not church or my home,

You see,

It’s a place where I can go,

Socialize, feel safe, and be free!

I know that you are wondering by now,

Saying, WOW!

I wish that were me.

Where I go,

I am taught to read, Arithmetic, Science,

Social Studies, and

Even a little History.

I use to wonder,

Who was in front of the room?

Not anymore,

Because knowing would probably

Turn my happiness to gloom.

This person shows me there is more than one way,

To do things in life,

And would ask me from time to time,

For MY INSIGHT.

I cannot remember any time before coming here,

How much my life was full of cheer?

To top it off about this place,

Nothing is considered a waste.

I once needed some extra materials for school,

Asked my parents

And

They acted a fool!

I was then faced with a confusing dilemma,

That was quickly resolved by,

Just asking Ms. Emma.

As you can see,

This is the place for me.

It’s the COOLEST place,

For adolescents like me.

You still ask,

Where is it for me?

I can tell you on the count of three,

One…two…three,

It’s the BEST place to be,

It is MIDDLE SCHOOL.

And it’s full of kids like me!!!
