Eric's and Noelle's Appalachian Trail Adventures

When Eric was in college at East Stroudsburg University in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, he would often hike in the nearby Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area despite the fact that he had no car. he would bum a ride with a friend or walk through a cemetery near campus, follow some railroad tracks and then pass through the town of Delaware Water Gap on his way to the recreation area. Interestingly, there is a conspicuous sign for the Appalachian Trail as it passes through the small village, and it was seeing this sign, marking the way to Maine or Georgia, that inspired Eric to thru-hike the AT in 2000.
