Whilst obviously it would be ideal for a student to be able to come twice a week (once for an English lesson with David and another time for a Maths lesson with Lucy) we appreciate that what we offer is an expensive service. Therefore we are both capable of covering both English and Maths at primary school level and so are equipped to help younger students in both subjects.

Do you have a home office in which to teach? Where are you based?

Yes. We are based in Howden Clough (Upper Batley), a town twenty minutes outside of Leeds. To see our address on google maps please click on the 'Location' tab at the top of this page or click here.

Will either of you travel to my home to tutor?

Unfortunately not. The Private tutors who are willing to travel tend to be those just starting out, who can't find work any other way. Any tutor worth their salt will be unable to travel simply because, if we did travel, it wouldn't be possible to fit even half as many students into our busy timetable due to the time it would take to drive everywhere.

Our address is specified under the 'Location' tab at the top of this page or alternatively click here.

Do you both own a fully Enhanced and clear DBS? (otherwise known as a CRB, a Criminal Records Check)

Yes. Unfortunately it is illegal to have a scanned copy of our DBS checks shown on a public webpage but we are happy to either email through a scanned copy of this or have it ready to show you in the first meeting.

Because most of the people we tutor are children under 16 years of age, we feel it's important that parents have peace of mind in this matter. If you decide to speak to another tutor we strongly recommend that you always ask to see their DBS check.

How much do you charge?

All lessons are £30 per hour.

Do I have to pay for things like books and paper?

No. All resources; textbooks, learning games, reading books, pens, paper, equipment etc. are included in the hourly fee.
