Both!
Obviously we've taught in person for many years, but the one positive to come from the pandemic was that we were forced to teach online for the first time- something we thought we'd never do! We were really taken back by how brilliantly the sessions went and the hugely positive feedback we received. After the first lockdown, when we were allowed to re-open again, over 90% of our students chose to remain online rather than come back for face to face lessons! Not only does it save time and petrol money but we found that so many of our students felt more comfortable working from home.
We will discuss your options with you in detail and try to determine which would be the best for the student in question. Ultimately though, the choice will be yours.
The online lessons take place over Skype (on computers, laptops, tablets and phones) or WhatsApp Video (on phones). Skype and WhatsApp are both free to download and use but we can also set up other voice applications if needed. Ideally you'll have a webcam and microphone which most devices come with as standard.
On our side we have a state of the art Webcam and Microphone so you'll be able to see and hear us as clearly as possible.
Yes. We are based in Howden Clough (Upper Batley), a town twenty minutes outside of Leeds. To see our address on google maps please click on the 'Location' tab at the top of this page or click here.
Unfortunately not. The Private tutors who are willing to travel are usually new to teaching and looking to grow their client base from zero. Experienced tutors will be unable to travel simply because, if we did did this, it wouldn't be possible to fit even half as many students into our busy timetables due to the time it would take to drive everywhere.
Our address is specified under the 'Location' tab at the top of this page or alternatively click here.
Yes. Unfortunately it is illegal to have a scanned copy of our DBS checks shown on a public webpage but we are happy to either email through a scanned copy of this or have it ready to show you in the first meeting.
Because most of the people we tutor are children under 16 years of age, we feel it's important that parents have peace of mind in this matter. If you decide to speak to another tutor we strongly recommend that you always ask to see their DBS check.
No. All resources; textbooks, learning games, reading books, pens, paper, equipment etc. are included in the hourly fee.
