NGC 7000/IC 5070 (The North American and Pelican Nebulae)

Constellation: Cygnus

Distance: 1800 Light Years

A large H II region separated into 2 components by a large dust lane which obscures the O type star that causes the nebula to fluoresce. The larger component, which resembles the shape of North America, is 50 light-years across.
