On the road again…

I was invited by Bill WA3GJD to demonstrate the ECS at a HSMM-MESH talk given by Kieth KB3TCB at the Montgomery Amateur Radio Club Meeting at the Community Center in Rockville, MD last night. During the demonstration, I was able to get the system to mesh with the all the others by changing the wifi IP address from 44.x.x.x to 10.x.x.x. The screenshot shows the ECS meshing with all the others in the room!

The demo went well and Jim WB3KAS and Jim WI3N were also present. And Aleks W3JAG, Club president, recorded the event and said that my demo will be available within the next week or so on her YouTube channel.

This is the second time the ECS was out of the lab. Lessons learned:

  • remove all connectors from the outside of the box for transport. The GPS antenna connector is compromised and I may have to repair it soon
  • this is the 2nd time that the ECS got a satellite lock inside a building–on the ground floor! The signals were weak but that’s pretty good!
  • The old 6CB power supply works just fine.
