Prevention and Wellness Programs for Castle Square Tenants Organization

In collaboration with Castle Square Tenants Organization at 476 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02116, EACH will provide a series of Prevention and Wellness Programs to their residents, beginning of Q2 to end of Q3 2019. EACH’s overall program objective is to educate their residents regarding various disease states prevalent among Asian Americans, disease state prevention, and information regarding government health plans and benefits programs.

South Shore Asian Mental Health Collaborative 2018-2019

EACH is please to announce, that on behalf of the Blue Hill Community Health Alliance (CHNA20), Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC) and Enhance Asian Community on Health (EACH) have been awarded a grant, which it will use to host Asia Mental Health Symposia and offer quarterly Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings from January 2018 to June 2019. Domestic Violence Ended (DOVE), Bay State Community Services (BSCS) and South Shore Mental Health (SSMH) will support these programs. The overall goal of the project is to decrease cultural stigma on mental health, and to address language and cultural barriers for Asian families in South Shore towns with growing Asian populations including Quincy, Briantree, Randolph and Norwood.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Course

A young person you know could be experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis. You can help them. Sometimes, the best first aid is you. Take the course, save a life, strengthen your community.

Course Description: Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to young people showing signs of a mental illness or in a crisis, and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care.

Course Duration: It is an 8-hour course.

Target Audience: Adults who work or live with young people, ages 12-18 — teachers, coaches, leaders, social workers, parents, and other caring citizens.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute December 2018

On December 15, seven volunteers from EACH were trained in breast cancer prevention education in collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. We are proud to announce that this collaborative program with Dana-Farber provides us with the opportunity to expand our services to our constituents and to get more involved with other disease states. By screening for the condition earlier, we can limit the progression of breast cancer and improve the lives of many women.

Kate Lorig Healthy Living Innovation Award Nominee, November 2018

EACH was the runner-up for the Kate Lorig Healthy Living Innovation Award from the Healthy Living Center of Excellence in November 2018. The Kate Lorig Healthy Living Innovation Award recognizes programs that empower older adults to actively manage their condition through innovative evidence-based disease management programs.

Understanding Medicare Open Enrollment

EACH participated in a collaborative informational forum with Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare and Saint Ann Parish for Harvard Pilgrim's Celebrating 65® program on September 14th, 2018 at 757 Hancock St. in Quincy, MA.

This program helps retirees, age 64 and above, navigate the complicated world of health insurance for topics including Medicare, Earned Credit, and Social Security. In addition, this session also hosted an additional workshop for Five Wishes - Aging with Dignity to empower individuals to make treatment choices based on their care and comfort level.
