A Matter of Balance


Managing Concerns About Falls is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults who have this concern. It is based upon research conducted by the Roybal Center for Enhancement of Late-Life Function at Boston University.

Chronic Disease Self-Management Program-My Life, My Health

is a participant education program developed by Stanford University's Patient Education Department. The workshop is designed to help people learn to manage their chronic conditions and improve the quality of their lives.

Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance


It is an evidence-based fall prevention program for community-dwelling older adults. Movements promote balance, flexibility, strength and range of motion. This program is rated by the HHS Administration on Community Living as Top Tier among evidence based prevention programs.

Mental Health First Aid


Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

The American Lung Association's Freedom From Smoking® Program

is for individuals who are ready to quit smoking now. Because most people know that smoking is dangerous to their health, the program focuses almost exclusively on how to quit, not why to quit.

Diabetic Education

Free 6-week workshop for those living with or caring for someone with diabetes or pre-diabetes to learn skills to prevent, manage and cope with the disease.

Healthy Eating

Healthy Eating is part of the Model Programs Project sponsored by the National Council on the Aging (NCOA). NCOA provides national leadership and oversight for the Healthy Eating Program.

The Healthy Eating Program was originally managed by the Lahey Clinic, then in 2008 was administered by HSL. In 2017, ESMV took ownership of the program
