From a newspaper, somewhere
Ingredients:
28 vanilla caramels, unwrapped (or more)
2 tbsp water
4-5 cups peeled, sliced apples
1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Melt caramels with water in top of double boiler, stirring occasionally, until mixture is smooth.
Layer apples and caramel sauce in pie shell. Combine flour, sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly, then stir in walnuts/pecans. Sprinkle over top of pie. Bake at 375 for 50-60 minutes or until apples are tender.
