I am a professor at Hochschule Rhein Waal in Kleve in Germany working on Biomimetic materials. This includes superhydrophobic surfaces, but also implant materials and biomimetically designed materials. My main teaching is related to the chemistry of materials. I am the co course leader of "Science Communication and Bionics"; a unique programme designed to generate graduates able to communicate the ever increasing complexity of modern life to the rest of humanity.
