I am very much interested in understanding the relationship between the physical and chemical properties of Titanium dioxide. The flexibility of Titanium dioxide which can be modified either by metal or non-metal doping, co-doping, and noble metal deposition sparks interest to diversify the research and development of this material as a versatile photocatalyst for wider application.
Thus, my research interest are very much focusing on synthesizing, characterizing, as well as applying Titanium dioxide nanomaterials as a photocatalyst in industrial wastewater remediation. Further, the visible light activity of Titanium dioxide is also on the range of interest. Since Titanium dioxide is naturally activated by ultraviolet light, the quest for the most efficient method in fabricating visible light active Titanium dioxide is rewarding because the visible light is more abundant and less harmful.
The synergistic effect between the deposition of green synthesized and eco-friendly gold nanoparticles (GNP) on Titanium dioxide nanomaterials is also of interest. Conventional GNP synthesis uses toxic chemical and is time-consuming while green synthesis of GNP using plant-based stabilizers is safer and faster. Plus, the GNP synthesized with the usage of green stabilizers is biocompatible and can be applied not only in photocatalysis, but also in the demanding biomedicine field
