The aim of this course is to provide understanding of the principle and fundamental knowledge of Physical Chemistry. This course shall focus on chemical thermodynamics and equilibrium involving gases, liquids and solutions, analysis of phase equilibrium as well as the kinetics of reactions. This course shall also covers the sub-disciplines of physical chemistry includes electrochemistry. The delivery methods throughout the course includes lectures, discussion, test, quiz, assignments and final examination. This is to ensure that students shall be able to measure, correlate, and explain the quantitative aspects of Physical Chemistry. The communications and problem solving skills in students shall be cultivated and developed throughout the course.
CLO 1 : Describe the understanding of the theoretical and fundamental concepts in physical chemistry (LOD 1, C2, PLO 1)
CLO 2 : Manipulate the theoretical knowledge to solve numerical problems related to physical chemistry (LOD 10, C3, PLO 5)
CLO 3 : Adopt personal skills in completing task related to the major concepts in physical chemistry (LOD 8, A2, PLO 7)
Discussion for continuous assessments (quiz and test) shall be uploaded in the YouTube Channel
The "Chemistry Quest for Young Minds" program is an innovative exploratory initiative designed to enhance students' interest in science in general and chemistry in particular. The main focus of this program is to develop teamwork skills and communication among students participating in this science exploration program. Through collaborative efforts centered around chemistry-related challenges and tasks, students are given the opportunity to sharpen their minds and apply the knowledge learned in school to collaborate, communicate, and solve problems in groups.
