Crokinole Boards

Two crokinole boards I made, using these plans. Both are made from a single 4'x4' sheet of 1/2-inch sanded birch plywood. The first has rails made of red oak. The second has rails made of poplar (because the red oak was a huge pain to rip on my radial arm saw!)

The first, named "Frankenstein" because it was kind of pieced together:

It was finished with Golden Oak stain on the deck and oil-based polyurethane over the entire thing (no stain on the gutter & rails). This one was my "learning" board.

The second one, (hopefully) better because of learning from my mistakes on Frankenstein:

Natural finish (no stain) on the deck with a single coat of golden oak stain on the gutter and rails.
