Found at yard sales today:

• inkjet printer (which I've already stripped down for motors, etc.): $2
• flatbed scanner (should contain some nice stepper motors for possible CNC project(s)): $5

And the big score:

• an old Roomba, complete with docking station, remote control, and invisible barriers! $20.

Apparently there's a huge Roomba hacking community. That site (and the book it is based upon) is written by the same guy that did this tech demo for an Arduino-based MIDI drumset, upon which the Electric Funkatron is based.
