Biotechnology is an emerging field of biology which has global importance in the field of agriculture, health, environment, forestry and many other industries .
The department of Biotechnology in this institute was established in 1996 which offers one year P G Diploma in Biotechnology (Tissue Culture).
The course covers subjects Analytical Biochemistry, Industrial Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering , Plant Tissue Culture Technology ,Greenhouse Technology and Environmental Education and Disaster Management .
The department has well established labs as well as competent faculty .
Along with regular course work the department arranges very good industrial training for students to strengthen their knowledge and make them fit for industries which help them in getting jobs.
Most of our passed out students got jobs in plant tissue culture, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, biofertilizers, horticulture fields etc.
