CPAP Pressure Settings

    • CPAP Pressure Settings These instructions are for Resperonics machines, such as the REMStar, but they may work as well on other models or brands of CPAP machines. To change the pressure of your machine, find the WHITE and RED buttons on the top-front. White should be on the left, and red on the right. Unplug your machine, or simply turn off an inline switch that feeds power to your machine. Now, press and hold down the center of each button simultaneously. You can do this with a pair of fingers on one hand. Then, re-power your machine by either plugging your power cord into the machine, or throwing your inline switch to the ON position. You may need a second person to assist you, because you have to hold down the buttons until power is restored. Your machine should start. Release the RED button, and then WHITE. The display should be showing you the "Hi" or "Lo" settings. Now, press and release the WHITE button TWICE. That should cycle you to the display that shows your current pressure setting. This should be a number (4 to 20), or a number with a leading '\' such as '\7', which is the machine's way of showing you a half-step in pressure. To change your pressure, press and release the RED button, and the display will show higher and higher values each time. They range from '4' on up to '20' by half-steps, thus: '4', '\4', '5', '\5', etc. If you reach '20' and continue, the cycle will loop back to '4'. So if you go past where you want to stop, just keep going and cycle back, and stop when you see the pressure you wish to attain. Now, unplug your machine, or turn off your inline switch. Wait a few seconds, and re-power your machine, which should come ON as if it was recovering from a power-failure. Your pressure will be what you last set before you powered down.
