Several years ago, I started using "annualcreditreport.com" to get my credit reports from the three credit-reporting agencies: Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. I got all three at once, and found them to be fairly similar. But then I had to wait a full year before I could check my credit reports again. So on my next anniversary, I waited until the 1st of the following month, and got just ONE report from one agency. Four months later, I got another report from another agency, and finally, four months after that, I got another report from the third agency. Then I realized my spouse has a separate Social Security number, and can also get reports independent of me. So we setup a schedule like this:
Notice we get a report from each agency every six months, and over all, we get six reports per calendar year. Each agency limits an individual to ONE report per year, and this schedule meets those requirements. We get each report sometime in the morning on the 1st of each month in the schedule. That way we guarantee the agency has the same date we do, even if we are in different time zones. Of course, you could choose the odd-numbered months, but we wanted to stay away from Christmas and New Year, so we picked the even-numbered months. You could choose a different "date", like the 15th of each month.
To make things even easier, we used an electronic calender service (Google Calendar), to set up "reminders" for each event in the schedule, and had them repeat annually. Since we each know the others Social Security number, and birth date, and answers to security questions posed by the agencies, EITHER of us can handle the entire schedule.
Lastly, we don't really "print" the reports. Our print-software allows us to choose "Save as PDF...", so we print-to-pdf and save the files. This gives us a complete history, and we can compare reports from different agencies, or compare across years. If some dispute occurs, we have electronic versions to support our claim. It also gives us a source to have at hand the next year to help us answer their pesky questions. It all "works" for us.
