Dish Network Program Guide
Instructions for completing an incomplete download (Attention 330)
Have you ever turned on your Dish Network and discovered an Attention 330 dialog box that says: "The program guide information is now being downloaded to your receiver. This will take about five minutes. Please wait or press 'Select' to stop", and it just won't complete? Well, if so, press "Select" on your remote to "Stop" the incomplete download.
Alternatively, you've noticed the Guide is full of "No Information Available" descriptions. For either case, here's a simple prescription that usually works.
Press the following buttons in sequence: Menu, 6, 1, 1.
That should take you to "Point Dish". Make a note of the Satellite numbers.
Move left to fill in your "Zip Code", then right to choose one of your satellites.
Now use your up/down arrow to choose an option on the right side, and press "Select" to activate it.
Start with "Check Switch" and "Select" it.
Check Switch (brings up "Installation Summary" screen)
Test (which results in a 158 dialog box - wait until it finishes)
Done (visually check that everything is OK)
You may have to test another satellite. Move to the Satellite field, and go up/down to choose another of your satellites.
Repeat the Check Switch, Test, Done sequence for that satellite. When you're all done, press:
Done
At this point, press "0" three times. That's three "Cancel" operations. You should get a 015 dialog saying the dish is acquiring the signal(s). Wait until it finishes. When it is done, you should see another dialog stating the Program Guide is being downloaded. The progress bar should move across from left to right, in small spurts. There may be a few pauses, that's normal. But if it gets stuck for more than five minutes in one place, you're stuck again. Select "Stop" and try again from "Point Dish"; or call Dish Network and ask for Technical Support to see if they can resolve your problem.
Don't blame me if this doesn't work.
