Four Legged Stand

One of the things I find very handy is a 4-legged stand I made from PVC pipes. A picture of it is shown above. It is constructed from two 12" threaded 1/2" PVC pipes (dark color), four T-joints, and then two connector pipes and four legs, all cut from a single 10' 1/2" PVC pipe. Cut two 12" connectors, and four 24" legs. Screw the single threaded socket on each T-joint onto the ends of the threaded pipes. Make sure they all have sockets pointing down (or up), and the others facing their counterpart when you hold the two threaded pipes side-by-side. Use PVC cement to glue the 12" white pipes into the sockets that face each other. Do all four sockets as quickly as possible so you can form a flat square as shown in the picture. You might want to work on a garage floor or some other surface where any mess can easily be cleaned up. Once the "square" has firmed up, lay it on a flat surface with the four empty corner sockets pointing straight up. Glue each of the 24" legs into each socket. Turn the entire assembly upright (as shown in the picture), and press the four corners evenly to force the legs to stand evenly on the flat surface (floor). Make any adjustments on the legs to get them level.

You're done! Ok, so what is this assembly meant to do? Well, I use mine for several things. Here are just a couple of suggestions:

1. As a leaf bag support, placing the legs down into the bag, then folding the open top edges over the four arms of the square. I can then stuff the bag without holding it. When I'm done, the entire assembly easily slips out by just pulling up on the assembly's square, pulling the legs out of the bag. Don't forget to remove it! You don't want to throw away your assembly by mistake!

2. Similar to #1, but to hold a trash bag for Christmas wrapping paper that has been discarded from presents. Collect it all in this "trash bag holder", then remove the assembly and throw out the trash.

I'm sure you can come up with many more uses.
