Purpose: (put into lab book)
The purpose of this lab is to determine the concentration of four acids.
Background: (follow directions given below)
Using your notes on titrations come up with background information that you feel would be important for a person who is just learning how to perform a titration. Put this in your lab book. Things to include would be a diagram of the lab set-up, the formula, explanation of the formula, and the indicator used and the colors it changes. Be sure to be complete!!!
Procedure: (follow directions given below)
Use your notes on titrations to come up with the procedure. You can summarize and put them in your lab book. The base you are using in this lab is 0.5 M NaOH (this is your standard) and for each trial you will use 10 mL of the acid.
Data: (put into lab book)
Click here if you're absent to see pictures from lab.
Calculations: (complete in lab book)
Calculate the concentration of each of the acids (A - HCl, B - HCl, C - H2SO4 , D - H2SO4) Be sure to show all of your work for each acid. (There should be four calculations shown, one for A, one for B, one for C, and one for D!)
Conclusion:
POST LAB at the end of class! If you are absent, see me about taking the post lab.
