Zego
We find many riders get insurance from a company called Zego - they are a pay as you go insurance service which is integrated with the Deliveroo rider app. This means you pay whilst you are online and working with the Deliveroo app and stop paying once you go offline.
If you want more information please go to Zego.com or download the Zego app from the app store, create an account and answer their questions.
We understand Zego charge from £1.15 - £3.00/ hour (car) or £0.55 - £0.75/ hour (scooter), depending on the cover provided.
There are some requirements for Zego:
Car riders: aged 25 - 65, Full UK/EU Driving Licence, Held licence for more than 2 years, less than 2 claims in the last 5 years, no 7 seater vans and a standard insurance policy.
Scooter riders: aged 21- 65, engine size 50 - 125cc, Full UK/EU Driving licence or CBT and standard insurance policy
(Zego will also now be doing regular checks to ensure riders are actively insured and not cancelling once being onboarded.)
