Deacon’s Giving Box

• Theme for the giving box is Linguine!

     Some suggestions are linguine, sauce, parmesan cheese and spices.

•  Always needed are Ziploc bags, gallon, quart, and sandwich sized.

• Also needed are paper shopping bags.

Mission Outreach and Giving

• Westside Bazaar - We're headed to the Westside Bazaar on September 19th at noon for lunch. There's a sign-up sheet on the Mission/Outreach bulletin board.

• Visit the Mission bulletin board for more events!

• Give securely online - CLICK HERE, enter an amount and select what you’re giving to from the dropdown list. If you don’t see what you want, select 2026 Nonpledge. When you click Continue you can enter what you want in the Comments section.

• You can also sign in to Breeze and select Give.

Under One Roof Capital Campaign

• We sincerely appreciate everyone who has already fulfilled their pledge. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and commitment. For those who are still making pledge payments, we encourage you to continue to do so timely. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference. You can pay your pledge by mailing a check to Deerhurst (attn: Linda Lemen), put it in an envelope placed in the offering plate, or online through Breeze. (Sign in to Breeze and select Give.) If you have questions, contact the co-chairs - Anne Fera and Dan Zimmer or reach out to Linda Lemen.

News from Adult Christian Education

• Women’s Bible Study with Donna Sleap, Wednesdays at 10:30 am in the library.

• Women’s Dinner - Third Wednesday of the month at Family Tree Restaurant. Next one is September 16th at 5 pm.

• Men’s Breakfast - Third Sunday of the month at Deerhurst. Next one is September 20th at 8 am (before worship).

• New Testament Study will resume on September 23rd at 7 pm in the library.

• Women's Retreat - Saturday, October 3rd

• Hispanic American Celebration - Saturday, October 10th

• Book Discussion - How We Learn to Be Brave, by Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde, November 6th and 13th.

News from Youth and Children's Ministries

• The Nursery - Will be open for people to bring their children but, there will be no consistent caregiver from July 5th until August 30th.

• Youth Group - Third Sunday each month at noon. Next event is September 20th. We will be painting so wear old clothes.

• Bottle and Can Drive – We're collecting returnable bottles and cans. There will be a basket in the back of the sanctuary (Sunday mornings only) for your donations. We ask that you please:

  • rinse your bottles/cans

  • put bottles/cans in a clean bag

  • do not put garbage in the bottle/can bag

  • do not smash cans (we cannot get money back for those)

Church Calendar

You can see all the events, programs, meetings, and everything that’s going on at Deerhurst by visiting our Church Calendar. There are two ways to view the calendar.

• Visit our website at www.deerhurstchurch.org and look for Church Calendar near the top right of the page. If you don’t see it click on More and select it from the list.

• Sign in to Breeze and go to Events. The calendar for the current month will open. In the column to the left of the calendar, you’ll see a list showing what the different colors mean. You’ll see some of them have check marks next to them. If there’s a check mark, you’ll see it on the calendar. If it’s unchecked it won’t appear on the calendar. You can check or uncheck each one. Try it and see.

Don’t forget to bring in [or send in] your Dash's register receipts

Elizabeth circle uses the proceeds from collecting the receipts to help fund youth ministries within the church.  Many Deerhurst high school seniors have benefited from this collection. It's the primary source of income for the Scholarship Fund.  If you have any questions, contact Karen Friend or the church office.
