Deacon’s Giving Box

• Theme for the giving box is Condiments!

     Some suggestions are ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, and soy sauce.

•  Always needed are Ziploc bags, gallon, quart, and sandwich sized.

• Also needed are paper shopping bags.

Chiavetta’s Chicken Fundraiser

Deerhurst Chiavetta’s Chicken Barbeque Fundraiser is back! 

Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 3:30 - 6:30 PM, drive-thru only. A dinner is $17 presale or $19 at the event. Dinner includes Chiavetta’s ½ BBQ Chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, and a dinner roll with butter. Proceeds will support the General Fund. Tickets are sold online (CLICK HERE) and at church starting May 17th. Take the night off from cooking and enjoy delicious Chiavetta’s chicken!

Amy’s Flowers Program

To keep the fabulous flowers coming each Sunday, the worship committee needs help with setup and preparing bouquets each week. If you could volunteer a week or two please contact Pastor Micah.

Mission Outreach and Giving

• Blessings in a Backpack - Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help. We are off for the summer. See you in September!

• North Tonawanda Pride Parade - Saturday, June 20th. We'll meet at Deerhurst at 10 am and carpool to the event.

• Deerhurst Disciples - The Ride for Roswell is on June 27 - We ride together for friends, family, and people we don’t even know who have a cancer diagnosis. We collect names to honor them, and to remember WHY WE RIDE. Email Anne Fera with names you would like us to carry. Some team members haven't met their goals. Any amount helps. Especially now, your support is critical to the ongoing search for new, more effective ways to treat cancer.

News from Adult Christian Education

• Summer Book Discussion - Thursdays in June at 5 pm in the Library. Discussion will be led by Pastor Micah on the book "The Language of God: A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief", by Francis S. Collins.

• Chautauqua Institution Distinguished Speaker - Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde. Sunday, June 28th at 11:00 am in the library

• Hispanic American Celebration - Saturday, September 26th

• Women's Retreat - Saturday, October 3rd

• Women's Dinner and Men's Breakfast - On break until the fall

News from Youth and Children's Ministries

• Graduates will be celebrated on June 21st.

• During the Summer - We'll have the craft table in the back of church. At least once a month we'll watch a video in the library.

• The Nursery - Will be open for people to bring their children but, there will be no consistent caregiver from July 5th until August 30th.

• Youth Group - Next one is July 5th at noon.

• Bottle and Can Drive – We are collecting returnable bottles and cans. There will be a basket in the back of the sanctuary (Sunday mornings only) for your donations.

• Vacation Bible School - Our Summer VBS CHRISTmas in July will be July 13th to 17th from 9 am to noon. To pre-register CLICK HERE

• VBS Wish List - We’re looking for these things for VBS. If you can lend anything or donate anything, please contact Joya Palermo. CLICK HERE to see the list.

Church Calendar

You can see all the events, programs, meetings, and everything that’s going on at Deerhurst by visiting our Church Calendar. There are two ways to view the calendar.

• Visit our website at www.deerhurstchurch.org and look for Church Calendar near the top right of the page. If you don’t see it click on More and select it from the list.

• Sign in to Breeze and go to Events. The calendar for the current month will open. In the column to the left of the calendar, you’ll see a list showing what the different colors mean. You’ll see some of them have check marks next to them. If there’s a check mark, you’ll see it on the calendar. If it’s unchecked it won’t appear on the calendar. You can check or uncheck each one. Try it and see.

Don’t forget to bring in [or send in] your Dash's register receipts

Elizabeth circle uses the proceeds from collecting the receipts to help fund youth ministries within the church.  Many Deerhurst high school seniors have benefitted from this collection. It's the primary source of income for the Scholarship Fund.  If you have any questions, contact Karen Friend or the church office.
