Dream C Club Gameplay Summary
The gameplay of Dream C Club and Dream C Club Zero (across all platforms) is pretty much the same. There is no in-depth story/lore to go along with the game. The game starts some time in the year 20XY in Tokyo where you are walking home after a days work. The protagonist fits the profile of a freeter (フリーター) engaging in part-time work (arubaito; アルバイト) for money. While walking through an alleyway of bars, the protagonist comes across a large opening with a brightly lit establishment called the Dream C Club. A faceless female voice than asks the question, "are you pure?" to which the protagonist replies, "yes!"
The clubs receptionist (受付; uketsuke) then appears and welcomes the player to Dream Club. She then congratulates the player as they are the recipient of a membership to the club because only those with a pure heart, are allowed admission. She also mentions the host girls are fun and try to go above and beyond in terms of providing service for "fresh" customers. She then presents the protagonist with their membership card which serves as their proof of admission to the club, and offers a friendly reminder not to lose it. She also mentions the card is only good for 1 years membership, and that the club is only open for business on the weekend (and thus the player needs to make their plans in advance.) She politely thanks the protagonist for listening to this long explanation.
This member card tracks all your key progress and does not reset across play throughs. It keeps track of milliliters of drinks consumed, amount of grams eaten, amount of cash spent, total club visits (a trophy is awarded after 100 visits), and the amount of stars earned for each host girl.
After this encounter, you find yourself back in your room where you decide to make the most of your membership; that first weekend (with ¥30,000 in hand), you head out to the club. From here, the game play actually begins, and it seems deceptively simple.
