I screwed up a bit on the lid. I was going to call it good, but then I also realized that it was much heavier than the lid the hinges were originally designed for, and that that could be a problem. So I re-did it. And then promptly forgot to take pictures of the part I actually corrected.
Cut (right), and compared to the previous attempt (left). Mostly the changes are around skeletonizing the piece to make it lighter. If you look really carefully, you might be able to see where I fixed the mistake on the original- right by where the LCD cable snakes up from the bottom, there's some metal that wasn't supposed to be removed.
Some close-ups of the skeletonization- I put a shallow indent behind the center of the LCD, as well as pockets around the edge of the lid.
