The following material is consolidated for public reference. These links to documents and websites should not in any way be considered complete and all-inclusive. There are many ideas and concepts that may still be presented for use which are not shown on this page. These are selected sites only that give general information on urban forest and landscape topics. The knowledge base is growing and new research gives us more insight in how to properly adjust our community for our living trees. Additional information is presented on the Landscape and Tree Ordinance page. That page can also now be found at DallasTrees.net.

You sometimes have legal questions regarding your trees and property rights that involve you and/or your neighbors. I cannot interfere in civil matters but can only provide general knowledge and direct you toward those who can help find those answers. You should contact your attorney, or if you're in Dallas, you may wish to take advantage of the free legal resource from the Dallas Bar Association, LegalLine. It is available on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of the month. They say they will take ANY kind of legal questions. Other communities may have free legal counseling as well.
