Capercaillies

The magnificent capercaillie is the largest of all henbirds. The size difference between the maile and female bird is larger than any other bird. The male is 2.5 to 4 times larger than the female bird. It is as long as 90 cm and its wight is 4-6 kg.

The mating dance of the capercaillies is very beautiful, the males are in between fighting very hard. The female birds are very good on hiding themselves but anyway only 7 % of the eggs gives young birds that are alive until next spring.
