Welcome New Members: Trish Roberts, Evelyn Salinas and Nanine Reynolds
Nine holes of play on any of the three courses at Comanche Trace is expected to take no longer than 2 hours and 15 minutes. Without rushing and by following these guidelines you can help us maintain this pace of play.
The Pro Shop staff will make every effort to make random pairings which allows us to play with different golfers each week, however to stay within Pace of Play Guidelines listed below. Faster players will be in the first group off. Please honor your assigned tee time and pairings.
FIRST AND FOREMOST – KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU!
1. Play READY GOLF. This means you are ready to take your next stroke when it is safe to do so, regardless of whether it is your turn or not.
2. PLAN AHEAD. THINK AHEAD. Do not wait until it is your turn before thinking about your shot and making your club selection.
a. When teeing off, stand near the tee box with your chosen club, so you are ready when it is your turn to tee off.
b. On the fairway plan your shot and your club while others are hitting or you are waiting for the group ahead of you to move out of range.
c. On the fairway when it is safe to do so, choose your club and walk to your ball while your cart partner or opponent is hitting. Do not sit in the cart and wait to be taken to your ball.
d. The driver of the cart should park next to where her ball is located, make her shot and then drive to her partner to move on to the next shot.
e. If you are unsure of which club you will need, take several clubs with you so you will not have to go back to your cart for the right club.
f. If you are the rider in a cart, when approaching the green take the clubs you think you might need (most likely your chipping wedge, sand wedge and putter) and walk up to the green while the driver takes the cart up and parks it.
g. Be sure to hit a provisional ball if you think yours might be lost.
h. When you are on the green check out your anticipated putt while others are putting so you are ready when it’s your turn.
i. When you putt keep taking your clubs with you as you move closer to the hole or lay your clubs in the path/direction of returning to the cart so you do not have to backtrack to pick them up.
j. If your ball is closest to the hole on the green, mark your ball and then tend the flagstick.
k. If you are the first to hole out, gather your clubs and then walk to the flagstick. Place the flagstick in the hole as soon as the last person has holed out.
3. Take no more than TWO practice swings.
4. If someone in your group has a LOST BALL, you should try to hit first and then assist the player in looking for it.
5. WATCH your ball until it lands and stops rolling. Visually mark the location using a tree, bush or object near your stopped ball.
6. Walk BRISKLY between shots.
7. Park carts toward the BACK of the green so you can move off to the back when all players have holed out. This allows the group in back of you to make their approach shots as you leave the green. It may not be safe to walk off towards the front of the green.
8. PICK UP your ball after reaching your maximum number of strokes. The formula to calculate your max is Par + Double Bogey + Strokes received (Pops) based on your handicap. Go to the GHIN.com or GHIN App to calculate your handicap strokes received per course.
9. PLAY GOLF. Visit later.
