Please stop by this Monday, March 1, 2021 any time between 2:30 and 3:30, to meet with our Teacher in Residence, Bryant Cooper.

Drop by for a few minutes or the whole hour to find out more about teaching secondary math and to connect with others who love teaching and supporting teachers. This week, you will have an opportunity to meet other math majors interested in teaching (at any level) and:

  • learn what a typical day in the life of a teacher is like

  • create or find an existing Kahoot! quiz or activity for use in your future classes

  • learn more about programs/topics that interest you - bring questions!

  • show and tell your favorite apps and software for learning and teaching math - bring ideas and demos!

Bryant Cooper graduated from CSUN in 2016 with his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and single subject Math Teaching Credential through the JYI program. Bryant began his Master's in Educational Technology at CSUN one year later and graduated at the top of his class in 2019. Bryant is in his 5thyear teaching high school for LAUSD. He has taught Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, TCMS (Statistics), and IDS (Data Science). Bryant has attended and presented at both local and national math and education conferences. As a Teacher in Residence, Bryant helps students make their way through the math degree and credential process. This includes, but is not limited to, supporting new teachers, helping students overcome challenges so they can earn their degree/credential, and pass state tests such as the CSET. Bryant also works with CSUN's Noyce and MSTI Scholars and is looking forward to meeting and working with you.
