CONSULT GUIDELINES
Patients with Central Nervous System Emergencies are transferred to St Luke's Baptist or University
Acute Spinal trauma is transferred via Medcom per the Red/Blue criteria
Consult Neurosurgery for any other spinal issues from Spinal Epidural abscess, to compression fractures. They will give guidance and potentially consult on patients in the ED or inpatient as is appropriate for timing. If the patient has beyond minimal neurologic dysfunction, they will likely recommend transfer to a terciary care center - University or St Luke's Baptist.
Sciatica, radiculopathy, back pain all can be referred to the spine group of neurosurgeons below
