From SA Metro Health District:
The Heat Injury Report Form is part of the City’s HEAT PLAN and allows City and County officials to determine the extent of excessive heat events and helps determine if an Excessive Heat Event notification and response program needs to be implemented.
In 1998 with a prolonged heat spell and the outlook for more high temperatures, community leaders realized it was necessary to evaluate the local situation and share information. During numerous meetings, local leaders identified the need for a heat relief plan. A community meeting on August 5, 1998, led by the Bexar County Judge, resulted in the development of the Community-Based Heat Relief Plan (The Plan). The Heat Plan is used as a basis for a more comprehensive “Extreme Weather Plan” and supplements the County and City’s emergency management plans.
I have included a link to the City’s Heat Plan that describes levels of heat conditions and associated risks.
