Emergencies (torsion, priapism we can't successfully treat, infected stone in pt with co-morbidities or septic, etc...)

Call urology attending on call at Med Center (NOT the resident) to discuss case

Call the attending in the ED at Med Center

Transfer to Med Center ED stat

Non-emergencies (i.e. patients who don't need to go straight to the OR and can be managed on the floor with urgent consultation)

Call the Urology attending at Med Center (NOT the resident) to discuss the case

Contact the Sound Hospital at Med Center to arrange admission and transfer directly to the floor

Non-emergencies being admitted for a primary urological issue with a private physician at Westover Hills who actually is admitting the patient themselves (not to Sound)

Admit to Westover Hills

Have the private admitting doc consult urology

Urology (Hakim, etc...) is not on call at Westover Hills

They will not do consults on primary urology patients unless that patient has a pre-existing relationship with a private doc who is actually admitting them

Eventually we will get coverage and all these problems and algorrhythms will disappear.
