RED Criteria 1 = Trauma ALERT
R1 Patient not "awake and appropriate"
R2 ACTIVE airway assistance required (i.e. more than supplemental O2 without airway adjunct)
R3 Weak carotid/femoral pulse or absent distal pulses
R4 Degloving injury, major flap avulsion
R5 Acute paralysis, loss of sensation, or suspected spinal cord injury
R6 Amputation proximal to wrist or ankle
R7 >=10% TBSA 2nd/3rd degree burns
R8 Penetrating injury to head, neck, or torso
R9 Pulseless injured extremity
R10 2 or more closed long bone fracture sites
R11 Any open long bone fracture

Call the Children's Emergency Medicine Attending to accept
CHofSA will accept Trauma Patients with these Criteria
Level Two
-Traumatic Mechanism of injury and GCS 9-14
-Suspected Abdominal injury (pain, seat-belt sign, ecchymosis)
-Extremity Penetrating Wound
-Burn 2nd, 3rd degree 10-30%
-Fall > 10 feet or 3 times the patient's height
-Femur Fracture with MPC/MVC/Fall (motor vehicle or ped struck)
-Near drowning or actual drowning
-Significant Facial trauma or skull fracture
-Intracranial injury
-Suspected Pelvic Fracture
-Death on scene of another involved occupant
-ED discretion
Level Three
-MVC > 20 mph
-Roll over vehicle
-Pedestrian Struck by motor vehicle
-Suspected non-accidental trauma in patients with isolated injuries - injuries highly suggestive of non-accidental trauma: rib, long-bone fracture
-Burn < 10% but warranting admission
-ED discretion
Level 1 trauma should still be transferred via Medcom to a level one facility
Childrens' will NOT ACCEPT
-Arrest in field
-Intubated
-Suspected airway compromise including severe facial burns, inhalation injury
-Respiratory compromise
-Hypotension 0-1 month < 60 SBP 1m-1yr <70 SBP 1yr-10yrs <70+age x 2 Over 10 yrs < 90 SBP
-Received > 20ml/kg saline bolus
-GCS<9
-Paralysis or suspected spinal cord injury
-Penetrating trauma to head, neck, trunk, extremity proximal to wrist or ankle
-Ampuation or near amputation
-Pulseless extremity
-Vehicle Ejection
-Burn>30%
-ED Discretion
BLUE Criteria 2 = Trauma ALERT
B1 Reliable history of any LOC and/or Amnesia
B2 Weight <10Kg or RED or PURPLE on Broselow tape
B3 Single closed long bone fracture site
B4 Ejection from vehicle (excludes open vehicles)
B5 Death in the same vehicle
