As announced via email to CSOA members on August 14, the lake's drain pipe repair work scheduled for that day had to be postponed. We are hoping the contractor will be available next week, but we do not yet have a new date. We will let you know when it has been rescheduled. A major highway-related incident south of Atlanta caused the Georgia DOT to call in their contractors for emergency work, requiring the presence of our drain repair crew on the TDOT site until midnight Friday.
The drain valve gate was reopened on August 14 to resume drawing down the lake level so that the lake bed can dry as much as possible in preparation for excavation/dredging. When we have a new scheduled date for the pipe repair (caulking), we will need to close the valve again one or two days before that work so that the pipe can be dry to receive the caulk.
